Boys: Pennsylvania vs Delaware

Panthers Continue their Winning Ways

PHILADELPHIA – The Panthers faced off against a solid and fast Delaware School for the Deaf squad last night. The Panthers defeated the Blue Hawks 67-62 at DSD a couple weeks ago. The Panthers were without superstar Kelly “The Beast” Sanders and starting guard Zakee Bess. Both Freshmen Zashun Long and Sophomore Kevin Brown filled in. Both teams started the game fast-paced and many shots were falling resulting in a tie at the end of the first, 18-18. With no relief off the bench, the Panthers switched from half-court press to match-up zone defense to conserve energy during mid-second quarter resulting in a 32-27 lead at the half. In the second half, the Panthers reloaded their offense and continued to play hard-nosed defense all over the court. Senior Dominic Booker-Bates was a major factor in the victory as he had a monster game with 24 points, 15 rebounds, 3 steals, and 3 blocks. Guard Mark Gonzalez and swingman Tajii Brown had 31 points and 10 steals combined. Freshmen sensation Zashun “Lightning” Long contributed with 6 points and 5 steals. The game ended with a final score of 64-51

It is no surprise that Dominick, who had the best game of his career, receives the game ball! With a 15-1 record, the Panthers will play Rhode Island School for the Deaf this Saturday’s Homecoming game.

Message from Coach Jerry: “See you Saturday. Come one, come all! Thank you for your continued support!”
